This is just a reminder that all new blog posts will now be appearing on the comics page. I’ll leave this post up here until I get all of the archived blogs moved over to the comic site. (Which should be awhile!)
Thanks,
Kevin

This is just a reminder that all new blog posts will now be appearing on the comics page. I’ll leave this post up here until I get all of the archived blogs moved over to the comic site. (Which should be awhile!) Thanks, Kevin So W. Bush got a pair of shoes pitched at his head at a press conference in Iraq yesterday. The Prez laughed it off (obviously the depth of the insult didn’t translate properly) and the Iraqi Prime Minister had the offending reporter jailed for attacking him. (The minister was standing next to W. and said the reporter might have been aiming at him and missed.) Share holders love Black Friday. Share holders get to sit at home and find out on TV how things went. Employees, on the other hand, not so much. The old room had a sort of Alice in Wonderland theme to it… and while it was fun, we were both kind of over it. The current site started out gangbusters but as time has progressed I’ve managed to crap it all up to the point where Lena finally threw her hands up in the air and declared a do-over. Hah! There were several reasons for this, but all of them were positive. (I hope.) Read the rest of this entry » Okay, yes I’m generally happy that Obama won. I certainly feel that he will do less harm than McCain, and stands a chance of doing some good. No I don’t think he’s perfect, and no I don’t think he’s going to wave his magic wand and make candy roses sprout out of the sidewalks. I am excited about the USA being respected again instead of laughed at and/or feared, and I am heartened by having a calm and deliberate hand attending to our financial crisis rather than a hot-headed and impetuous one. Read the rest of this entry » It has been reported recently across a variety of geek websites that the Christian Children’s Fund refused a gift of $17,000 from the Gencon charity auction, being held in Gary Gygax’s name. (CCF was Gygax’s favorite charity and he contributed to it many times during his life.) The reason given or implied was that the source of the money somehow “tainted” the gift due to it’s association with D&D, and thus satanism, witchcraft, and devil worship. Fortunately, this is a load of demon poop. I had sent away for mail-in ballots for myself and Lena, and when hers arrived, mine didn’t. I waited a week and then jumped on the phone to find out what was what. The woman on the phone could no longer find my name on the rolls for Jacksonville at all, and could only turn me up under my previous name in Gainesville where I lived twelve years ago. Clearly, something was awry. Read the rest of this entry » When I was a kid, the holidays were a mixture of magical wonderment, and stomach-eating anxiety. We did all the holidays, from costumes and candy to lights and trees, but everything was hung with a pall of simmering resentment that would occasionally spark and ignite into a brush fire of anger, shouting, and tears, culminating in everyone running back to their corners to sit and simmer some more until the next encounter.
